Activists Slam President Samia’s Remarks on Gen Z Crackdown, Demand Immediate Apology

They highlighted a silent epidemic of abductions and enforced disappearances, referencing the cases of CHADEMA leaders Tundu Lissu and John Heche, as well as former ambassador Humphrey Polepole, who all remain in detention or missing.
Among the most contested laws are the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes (Amendment) Act, which gives government agencies power to block websites and the Privatization Act, which critics say allows the sale of public assets without enough oversight.
The groups are calling for the immediate release of Dr. Besigye, Hajj Obeid Lutale, and lawyer Eron Kiiza, along with an end to the militarization of justice in Uganda.
