Tanzania’s Main opposition party CHADEMA has said the movement of no reforms, no elections, is not rebellion nor treason but a fair process to demand change.<\/p>\n

Speaking on Friday at party headquarters, CHADEMA’s deputy secretary general, Amani Golugwa, noted that the \u2018\u2019No Reform No Change movement slogan” does not mean rebellion but the party’s firm stand against corrupt electoral systems.<\/p>\n

Goluwa also said Tanzania is demanding changes to the electoral systems and electoral laws to ensure fair and transparent elections in Tanzania.<\/p>\n

Golugwa said the real meaning of the rebellion implies going against bad systems, and that the party has not threatened the life of the president, but they want justice<\/p>\n

His sentiments come just hours after the party’s Chairman, Tundu Lissu, was charged with three counts, treason, perjury, and incitement, and remanded in custody without bail until April 24, when his case will be mentioned.<\/p>\n

Lissu was arrested by the police force in Ruvuma, Mbinga district, and ferried overnight to Dar es Salaam, where he was on Thursday charged with three accounts of charges.<\/p>\n
