The fifth edition of the annual ‘’Cycling for Arthritis’’ kicked off on Saturday morning from Malindi with the final destination expected to end in Busia.
The main aim of the ride is to raise over Ksh 5 million to fund the construction of a modern arthritis clinic in Likuyani, Kakamega County.
According to Moses Ogolla, the Chief Marshal of the Mombasa Cycling Association and Chairman of Shanzu Fitness, they are also using their ride to create awareness about Arthritis in Kenya, a condition that affects more than 1.5 million Kenyans.
‘’This is not your usual ride. We are creating awareness and mobilizing funds to assist over 1.5 million Kenya diagnosed with Arthritis. we also thank our partners for coming through for this noble cause’’ says Ogolla.
The Ride, proudly sponsored by World Bicycle Relief alongside Buffalo Bicycles, will cover 1,000 kilometers and will involve 40 cyclists.

Arthritis is a common disease that causes joint pain, stiffness, swelling, and inflammation. It can affect any joint but is most common in the hands, wrists, knees, hips, feet, ankles, shoulders, and lower back.
