From Thursday, October 3, to Friday, October 4, several areas in Nairobi will experience a 24-hour water disruption.
This is due to the rerouting of a pipeline at the Uhuru Highway-Haile Selassie Junction for the Green Park Pedestrian Underpass construction.
The affected areas include: Central Business District (CBD), Mombasa Road, South B & C Estates (including Mater Hospital), Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Standard Gauge Railway (SGR), Athi River Export Processing Zone (EPZA), Coca-Cola, Mukuru, Imara Daima, North Airport Road, Embakasi Village, and Tassia Estate Ngara, Wangari Maathai Road, Desai Road, Kipande Road, Limuru Road, Muranga Road, Park Road, Gigiri, Whispers Avenue, Village Market, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), U.S. Embassy, General Service Unit (GSU), Administration Police Training Schools, Nairobi Internal Container Depot, Baraka Estate, Industries along Masai Road
Buruburu Phase 3, 4, and 5, Gikomb, Pumwani, Majengo, Shauri Moyo and Industrial Area.
“General Services Unit and Administration Police Training Schools and Nairobi Internal Container Depot and parts of Baraka estate, Industries along Masai road and adjacent areas. Buruburu phase 3, 4 & 5 Gikomba, Punwani, Majengo, Shauri Moyo, the whole of Industrial Area,” added the statement.
The water shutdown will start at 6:00 AM on Thursday and is expected to end at 6:00 AM on Friday.
The Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has urged residents to use water sparingly during this period.
