Co-hosted by Ethiopia and Italy, the summit will convene governments, civil society, businesses, and international organizations to assess progress made since the inaugural 2021 UN Food Systems Summit and the first stocktake in 2023 (UNFSS+2).

Held at the United Nations Conference Centre, the event will feature plenary sessions, side events, and field visits aimed at unlocking investments, strengthening partnerships, and accelerating food systems transformation amid mounting global challenges like climate change, conflict, and economic instability.

The summit will also spotlight country-led innovations and inclusive governance models, with a strong emphasis on nutrition, equity, and the rights of marginalized communities.

With only five years left to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, UNFSS+4 is expected to feed into major global forums including the UN General Assembly and COP30, reinforcing food systems as a cornerstone of sustainable development.a
