Ojwang, a well-known blogger and teacher, was arrested at his home in Homa Bay County by DCI officers and transported to Nairobi’s Central Police Station.
He had allegedly written on his X page (formerly Twitter) accusing the officer of engaging in corrupt practices.
Police arrived at his home in Kakoth village, Homa Bay County, and arrested him without giving any further details to his family.
After his arrest, he was taken to the Central Police Station in Nairobi, which sparked a heated debate with his family claiming that they were not informed of the transfer. The family also said his phone was switched off.
