The Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) has confirmed the suspension of Telegram services due to allegations of the involvement in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education Authority (KCSE) Examinations malpractices.
In an official statement released, CAK has ordered all mobile networks to block telegram operations between 7am-10am in the morning and from 1pm to 5pm in the Evening, from Monday to Friday upto until November 22nd 2024.
CAK accuses Telegram management of not taking precau
This decision comes after it was discovered that the platform was being used to share and sell exam materials, violating the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) regulations.
CAK believes the measures will aid in preventing instances of rigging in the ongoing 2024 KCSE Examinations.
