The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has provisionally suspended Kakamega Homeboyz and Harambee Stars goalkeeper Patrick Matasi for 90 days following serious allegations of match manipulation.

In an official statement released on Thursday, FKF confirmed the suspension, stating that it was in accordance with Section VII (2) of the FKF Anti-Match Manipulation Regulations (2016). The federation has also formally communicated the decision to both Matasi’s club, Kakamega Homeboyz FC, and the player himself.
The suspension comes after videos surfaced online, raising concerns about potential match manipulation. FKF emphasized that it is committed to upholding integrity in the sport and ensuring a fair investigation process.
“FKF, in collaboration with FIFA, CAF, and other relevant authorities, has initiated an official investigation into the matter. The Federation remains committed to upholding integrity in football and ensuring a fair and transparent process for all involved parties,” said FKF in their statement.
The federation has also called for anyone with credible information related to the issue to come forward, and assured that further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
This development follows a wave of public scrutiny regarding Matasi’s recent performances, which included conceding goals that raised suspicions among football fans.
