Overview of the 2024 KCSE examinations
KNEC has also reported that 840 candidates’ results have been cancelled due to involvement in examination malpractice, and 2,899 results are being withheld as investigations are ongoing. These candidates will have their results released within 30 days once the investigations are complete.
In the 2024 KCSE, more female students sat the examination than male students, marking a historic moment. Of the 965,512 candidates who sat for the exams, 482,202 were female, accounting for 50.1% of the total candidates, surpassing male candidates at 49.9%.
Among the top achievers, 1,693 candidates earned an A, while 246,391 candidates secured the C+ qualification needed for direct university entry.
Additionally, KNEC has announced plans to introduce a mid-year KCSE exam series starting in July. This initiative is aimed at candidates who missed the main exam due to illness or other unforeseen challenges, as well as those who wish to repeat the exam.
Candidates facing issues with accessing their results can reach out to KNEC’s toll-free numbers: 0800724900 or 0800721410 for assistance.
