Two suspected drug traffickers, a Kenyan woman and her Tanzanian accomplice, have been arrested in Donholm, Nairobi, during a sting operation by the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

The two, identified as Teresia Nduku and Simba Kitwana Khamri, were caught with a unique type of cannabis valued at Ksh8,000 per gram.

After their arrest, the suspects led detectives to their residence in Tala, Kangundo Sub-County, where a search uncovered a backpack with a hidden compartment containing cannabis, a digital scale, and other incriminating documents. According to the DCI, the cannabis had been smuggled into Kenya from abroad, with the Tanzanian suspect playing a key role in packaging and disguising the drug for distribution.

The DCI revealed that the cannabis entered Kenya via the Namanga border, and its street value was determined through intelligence reports. The suspects are now being held in custody, awaiting their court appearance.

This arrest comes as part of a broader crackdown on drug trafficking, with authorities recently pursuing other suspects involved in the trade.
