Newly elected Chadema chairman Tundu Lissu has assured members, supporters, and Tanzanians that his leadership would primarily focus on ensuring justice, transparency, and fairness not only within the party but to all Tanzanians

Lissu made the remarks today after officially assuming office at the party Hq in Mikocheni Dar es Salaam.
“We will not sideline anyone. We will work together and ensure everyone gets justice,” he said.
The firebrand former presidential candidate has also extended an olive branch to all disgruntled supporters by appealing to them to consider rejoining the party to achieve its goals.
‘’ I am calling on all persons of goodwill to consider joining the party. going forward, we need a formidable team. We need everyone to contribute either by offering blessings, gifts, money, energy, or talents for the sake of what lies ahead of us. I welcome all of you including non-partisans’’ Said Lissu, adding ‘’ I know many people are happy with us, many people are supporting our good course and many have faith in what we stand for’’.
Ahead of the coming general elections, Lissu stressed on his irreducible minimums for Chadema to participate in polls.
‘’Who wants a repeat of the 2020 election? No reform! No election! And we will speak in the language President Samia Suluhu understands. We will spread our slogan (of No reforms! No election!) to our friends both within and abroad in broad daylight without blinking an eye. We will not hide anything’’ said Lissu amidst cheering from supporters.
Lissu’s sentiments were echoed by his deputy John Heche who says they have no time to waste in their quest to unseat President Samia Suluhu in this year’s election.
‘’We have hit the ground running. For now, we will not be swayed by petty party politics. Party elections are over. Our bigger picture now is to unite and capture power in 2025’’ said Heche.
Tundu Lissu was elected Chairman on 20th January 2025 after winning against Freeman Mbowe in a highly celebrated election due to its democracy and transparency.
