Popular Kenyan actress Winnie Ndubi Bwire, known for her role as Dida in the TV show Sultana, has sadly passed away. The family confirmed her death on Thursday, September 5, 2024, while she was undergoing treatment for cancer in Turkey.
In their statement, the family expressed their sorrow, saying, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce Winfred Bwire Ndubi lost her battle with cancer while receiving treatment in Turkey. We deeply appreciate everyone who supported us during this difficult time.”
Winnie had been fighting metastatic breast cancer for the past two years. Just a month before her passing, she had appealed for financial help to raise Ksh 5 million to cover the cost of her treatment abroad. In her last video, shared on August 14, she explained the difficulties of her treatment, including severe side effects that made her situation more challenging.
Despite the struggle, Winnie remained hopeful, thanking her supporters for their prayers and financial help. The family has promised to provide more details soon.
