It is a relief for Safaricom users after the telecommunication service provider announced new changes to its offering on the least amount one can buy from M-Pesa.
In the announcement released on Monday by the telco, customers can now purchase airtime for as little as KSh 1 via M-Pesa from the previous minimum of KSh 5.
The change aims to make airtime more accessible to all users and potentially increase the company’s voice revenue.
“This service will be free to the initiator of the reverse call for up to two requests in a day. Subsequent reverse call requests made within the day (after the first two requests) will be charged an access fee of Ksh. 0.5 per reverse call request,” Safaricom said.
According to a spot check by @MwanzoTv, the new offerings have been confirmed, and the service has already been rolled out.
Safaricom had sent messages to its users informing them of the new development.
This change comes days after Safaricom also announced that it would start charging users Sh0.50 for reverse calls.
