Tanzania Music Icon Alikiba Dedicates His Nairobi Show to Raila Odinga

Renowned Tanzanian musician Alikiba has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga. Alikiba, who arrived in Nairobi on Friday, expressed his condolences to the Kenyan people and government, describing Odinga as a towering figure in African politics.

“Licha ya kuwa tuna majonzi lakini sio mbaya nimekuja tuomboleze kwa pamoja. Baba alikuwa kama mzazi wangu na nilikifunza mengi kwake.” he stated.

In a poignant gesture, Alikiba announced that he would dedicate his upcoming show in Nairobi to the memory of the late statesman. The show, scheduled for October 19, 2025, at Cavalli Club in westlands, will also mark the first anniversary of old-school Bongo music. Fans attending the event are encouraged to wear attire that eulogizes Odinga, paying respect to his legacy.

Alikiba reflected on his personal encounters with Odinga, recalling the wisdom and guidance he received from the veteran politician. “Encounters with him were always enriching, offering valuable insights and constructive advice,” Alikiba said. He emphasized that Odinga’s passing has left a significant void, not only in Kenya but across the region.
