The Duchess of Edinburgh, Sophie, has begun her official visit to Tanzania, which will last from September 16 to 20, 2024.
This is the first visit by a member of the UK Royal Family to Tanzania since the Duke of Cambridge’s visit in 2018.
During her visit, the Duchess will focus on several key areas, including health, agriculture, and women’s empowerment.
She will tour Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, and Arusha, engaging with various international organizations and local communities.
Some highlights of her itinerary include visiting the Magomeni Health Centre in Dar es Salaam, observing health initiatives in Zanzibar, and launching a new horticulture export accelerator program in Arusha.
This visit underscores the strong partnership between the UK and Tanzania in addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development.
