TikTok personality Kakan Maiyo, whose real name is Godfrey Mwasiaga, has been released on a Sh10,000 police cash bail following his arrest on July 9 for allegedly inciting violence against police officers and their families.

Maiyo, arrested by detectives at Kimathi House in Nairobi, where he operates a logistics business under the name LetaPeleka Logistics, was apprehended because he was allegedly behind a viral TikTok video that incited violence against police officers and their families
The arrest stemmed from a viral video posted on his TikTok account, in which he made statements perceived as inflammatory and threatening toward law enforcement.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stated that Maiyo had been operating a discreet office under the name LetaPeleka Logistics, and that detectives tracked him there following the circulation of the video.
Following his release from Muthaiga Police Station, Maiyo was ordered to report to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters for further processing.
His legal team has dismissed the charges as vague and unconstitutional, arguing that his remarks fall within the bounds of free expression.
