Tunisian President Kais Saied has fired his finance minister, Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia, and appointed Michket Slama Khaldi, a magistrate, to the role.

Nemsia was appointed as the Finance Minister of Tunisia on October 11, 2021.

She had initially been appointed as the interim Minister of Economy, Finance, and Investment on August 2, 2021, by President Kais Saied

Michket Slama Khaldi had previously headed a national commission tasked with recovering embezzled public funds.

She previously served as the president of the National Commission for Penal Reconciliation, an institution responsible for addressing past violations and reparations.

Khaldi brings a notable background in the judicial and administrative fields to her new role. She has also been a member of the Competition Council under the Ministry of Commerce and Development.
