Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has accused Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua of being behind a failed plan to oust President William Ruto.
“My boss, it’s no longer a secret that you’re the mastermind behind the dead-on-arrival plan to oust our President.” he stated
According to Sudi in a satatement through his X account, he claims that DP Gachagua tried to leverage the Gen Z protests earlier this year to remove President Ruto from power.
“Young people were killed in the streets, and those jailed are a result of the money you poured to sponsor demos, yet now you claim you’re fighting for them!save for the respect we have for your office, you belong to jail.” Sudi satated
Sudi claims that Gachagua is manipulating emerging political leaders such as James Gakuya, Alfred Keter, and Benjamin Gathiru. This follows after the The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) issuing a recommendation of charges to be taken against two Nairobi Members of Parliament, Benjamin Gathiru Mwangi (Embakasi Central) and James Mwangi Gakuya (Embakasi North), along with three others. The DCI accuses them for allegedly planning, mobilizing, and financing anti-government protests that took place in June 2024.
“The two members of parliament were summoned on 31st July 2024, and their statements were recorded. However, they declined to hand over their mobile phones for forensic examination,” DCI says.
He also accuses Gachagua of attempting to undermine the political careers of established leaders like Kimani Ichung’wah, Kimani Kuria, Cecily Mbarire, and Ndindi Nyoro.
Oscar Sudi, thas issued a warning to DP Gachagua, urging him not to use tribalism to manipulate the people of the Mt. Kenya region.
“You’re a Kenyan leader, and it’s a shame to dwell on ‘usiguse murima’ and other stories when you know it’s about your selfish agenda and not our fellow Kenyans in Central. Shame on you!”, Sudi reiterated
Sudi’s remarks is as a response to Gachagua’s latest lamentation decrying that the DCI is harassing his staff and allies.
