The UK has announced new sanctions targeting several high-profile Russian officials and entities in its latest effort to pressure the Kremlin.

The sanctions include individuals such as Pavel Fradkov, a Russian defense minister, and Vladimir Selin, who heads an arm of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Additionally, Artem Chaika, whose extractives company supports Russian state-owned businesses, has also been sanctioned.
The UK has also targeted two entities linked to Russia’s nuclear energy giant, Rosatom, which are supporting Russia’s military activities in Ukraine.
These measures are part of the UK’s ongoing efforts to weaken Russia’s war machine and support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression.
Foreign Secretary David Lammy emphasized the importance of maintaining pressure on Russian President Vladimir Putin and called on international partners to continue their support for Ukraine.
“I am announcing further sanctions to keep up the pressure on Putin. Ukrainians are fighting for their country’s future and the principle of sovereignty across Europe at the frontline. Nearly a year on from the death of Alexei Navalny, I am honoured to meet with Yulia Navalnaya and make clear our commitment to weaken Putin’s attempts to stifle political opposition and crack down on the Kremlin’s corrupt dealings globally. We are calling on our friends and allies to continue to step up in the face of ongoing Russian aggression” Foreign Secretary David Lammy said
