Joerg Kukies To Be Named New Finance Minister After Christian Lindener Dismissal

Chancellor Olaf Scholz is expected to name Joerg Kukies, a member of Olaf Scholz’s Social Democrats and a close ally of the chancellor as the new Finance Minister

This comes shortly after Scholz sacked Minister Christian Lindner for allegedly proposing snap elections as a solution to the ongoing crisis within Germany’s governing coalition.

The coalition, which includes Scholz’s Social Democratic Party, the Greens, and Lindner’s Free Democratic Party, has been struggling with disagreements over economic reforms and budget issues
