Former U.S. President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama have publicly dismissed rumors suggesting their marriage is in trouble, calling the speculation unfounded and even humorous.

Appearing together on Michelle’s podcast IMO, the couple addressed the divorce chatter with warmth and wit. When co-host Craig Robinson joked, “Wait, you guys like each other?”, Michelle replied, “Oh yeah, that’s the rumor mill,” while Barack added playfully, “She took me back! It was touch and go for a while”.
Michelle went on to clarify, “There hasn’t been one moment in our marriage where I thought about quitting my man. And we’ve had some really hard times… I’ve become a better person because of the man I’m married to”.
The rumors had gained traction earlier this year when Michelle skipped several high-profile events, including President Jimmy Carter’s funeral and Donald Trump’s inauguration. She later explained that with her daughters grown and her husband out of office, she now feels free to make personal choices without public assumptions.
Their joint appearance and candid reflections seem to have put the speculation to rest—reaffirming their bond and offering a glimpse into the resilience behind their decades-long partnership.
