Frank Nyalusi, the Chairman of the Party for Democracy and Development (CHADEMA) in Iringa Urban Constituency, passed away on the night of September 19, 2025. He died while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Iringa Regional Referral Hospital.
Nyalusi served as a councilor for Mivinjeni Ward, Iringa Municipal Council, from 2010 to 2020. His death has been met with shock and sadness from his party colleagues and the community.
According to Necto Kitiga, Vice Chairman of the National Youth Council (Bavicha) through CHADEMA, Nyalusi’s demise is a significant blow to the party. Kitiga praised Nyalusi as a highly respected leader known for his stance and patriotism, saying, “He has been a highly respected leader for his stance and patriotism; we will remember him for his great contribution in strengthening the party in Iringa.”
Senior CHADEMA leaders are expected to attend Nyalusi’s funeral, which is scheduled to take place soon. The party has expressed condolences to Nyalusi’s family, friends, and colleagues, describing him as a tireless fighter and brave individual who played a crucial role in the party’s growth in Iringa.¹
