Gor Mahia midfield maestro Enock Morrison has been crowned the 2025/26 SportPesa League best player of the season.

For the 26-year-old Ghanaian international, it was a double joy as he was also named the midfielder of the year at a gala ceremony on Thursday night at a Nairobi hotel.
The highly decorated event was attended by several dignitaries, including Football Kenya Federation president Hussein Mohammed, his vice president, McDonald Mariga, and SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri.

In the race for the coveted best player of the league, Morrison saw off a stiff competition from the season’s top scorer and Murang’a Seal’s striker Joseph Irungu Waithira, and Mara Sugar’s defender Jimmy Owili. Owili was crowned the defender of the season.
Morrison joined Gor in July last year on a two-year contract. He was instrumental in Gor’s triumph this season, excelling both as a midfielder and as a leader on the pitch.
In the technical bench category, Kogalo manager Charles Akonnor was named coach of the season, beating AFC Leopards’ Fred Ambani and APS Bomet coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo.

Waithira, who won the Golden Boot awards, also clinched the Player’s Player of the season award
