Two DNA tests have confirmed that the body recovered from Lake Yahud is not that of Della Anole Ward Representative Yusuf Hussein Ahmed, who went missing on September 13.
“The results show that the body is not his,” a family source said.
The DNA outcome presented on Thursday 24th October, 2024, deepens the mystery surrounding his disappearance, which was reported as abduction in Nairobi by unknown individuals.
The two pathologists, a private and a government doctor, examined the missing legislator’s mother, brothers, and preserved body at Wajir Hospital Mortuary, using samples from the family’s hired doctor.
The misidentified body which has only been identified as Somali-born, six-foot-two-inch tall body found at Wajir mortuary, was found to have been severely damaged due to blunt force trauma to the face, causing internal head bleeding.
According to the pathologist, the misidentified body was not burned and no body parts were chopped off, but due to decomposition, some parts appear badly damaged.
The family of the missing Della Anole Ward MCA had earlier on revealed that Ahmed was summoned by the Wajir County Security and Intelligence Committee (CSIC), chaired by County Commissioner Karuku Ngumo.
However, Ngumo denied the claim, despite a letter he allegedly signed on August 6, 2024, requesting the MCA to appear for security related issues.
Yusuf Hussein Ahmed was abducted in Nairobi on September 13, 22024, while being driven in a taxi. The taxi driver by the name Wambua Kioko, reported to the police that armed men alighted from two unmarked Toyota Land Cruiser Prados, forcing the politician out, before vanishing away with him.
