International Youth Day

International Youth Day is celebrated every year on August 12th.

International Youth Day was established on August 12, 1999, by the United Nations (UN). In the same year, on December 17, the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth in Lisbon proposed the notion to the United Nations General Assembly.

The day was initially commemorated on August 12, 2000, and it has since been used to educate the general public.

Effective efforts to educate and motivate youth were initiated by the United Nations General Assembly in 1965. The declaration endorsing nonviolence, mutual tolerance, and an appreciation of many cultures was accepted by them.

This day aims to bring attention to youth issues and celebrate the potential of young people as partners in today’s global society. It also provides an opportunity to recognize the youth’s natural characteristics and ability to affect the world’s future.

This day is also set to serve as an important reminder of the obstacles that young people experience around the world, such as educational difficulties, limited access to medical services, and financial insecurity, and it encourages collaborative efforts to address these issues.

The theme for 2024 is “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,” highlighting the role of youth in driving digital innovation and sustainable development.

Therefore, Mwanzo TV wishes all young people a fantastic International Youth Day!

We acknowledge that your creativity and determination are shaping a brighter future for everyone. Sending warm wishes on International Youth Day! May your voices be heard and your ideas be valued as you continue to make a difference.
