The scam message congratulates KCSE 2024 candidates and instructs them to send KSh 100 to a personal number for automatic delivery of their admission documents—a claim the university has firmly disowned.

In its official statement, Moi University clarified that no fees are required to access admission letters and that the documents for the 2025/2026 academic year have not yet been released.

The institution urged students and guardians to rely solely on verified communication channels, such as the university’s website and official social media accounts. Any message sent via personal numbers should be treated as fraudulent.

This alert comes shortly after KUCCPS announced placement results, with Moi University receiving over 6,700 new students.
The university emphasized vigilance, especially as scammers target eager students before their academic journey begins.
