The United States and Iran have announced a suspension of all attacks for two weeks, and Tehran has agreed to allow safe transit of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran has claimed victory and says upcoming talks in Pakistan’s Islamabad on Friday do not mean that the end of the war is guaranteed.
Meanwhile, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the country supported the ceasefire but that it did not include Lebanon, contradicting Pakistan’s statement that it did.
Both the US and Iran have claimed “victory” in the conflict following the announcement of the ceasefire.

About an hour later, Reuters reported Iran had agreed to the ceasefire and had submitted a 10-point proposal for peace to the US via Pakistan

However, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later said the ceasefire did not include Lebanon
Trump told AFP the US had won a “total and complete victory”, while the Iranian Supreme National Security Council said Iran had “achieved a great victory”.
The Abu Dhabi government media office announced on X that two Emiratis and one Indian national were injured following a fire incident at Habshan gas-processing facility earlier in the day.
“Abu Dhabi authorities can confirm that it was caused by falling debris, following a successful interception by air defence systems, resulting in multiple fires and minor injuries,” it said.
Habshan is a major oil and gas field south-west of the UAE city of Abu Dhabi.
“Operations have been suspended and further updates will be provided in due course,” it said.
The UAE has intercepted more than 2,200 UAVs, 26 cruise missiles and 520 ballistic missiles since the onset of conflict with Iran, according to the Ministry of Defence.
Pope Leo XIV on Wednesday hailed the ceasefire between the United States and Iran as a “sign of real hope”.
“I welcome with satisfaction, and as a sign of real hope, the announcement of an immediate two-week truce. Only by returning to negotiations can we reach the end of the war,” the Catholic leader said at the end of his weekly audience at the Vatican.
