A number of major roads leading to Nairobi city, Kenya, have been barricaded by police officers, partially disrupting the movement of motorists.

Mwanzo tv journalist observed that roadblocks have been erected at Thika Road (Roysambu), Mombasa Road (close to JKIA), Waiyaki Way (Kinoo, Kangemi and Westlands), and Rongai (at MMU).
Roads leading to Parliament have also been blocked using barbed wire.
A section of protesters and victims intimated that they will conduct a nationwide candlelighting ceremony to honour the fallen Gen Z heroes.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has vowed that police are prepared to provide security for demonstrators expected to take part in the anniversary protests.
Speaking during a press briefing on Wednesday evening, Murkomen said the government respects the constitutional right of every Kenyan to peacefully assemble and demonstrate, adding that police had received notification from citizens planning to hold public protests.
