Under the new stewardship of the Rai Group and the leadership of Managing Director and CEO, Sohan Sarma, Nzoia Sugar Company has transitioned from a stalled, near-collapse state into a smoothly running, fully automated modern milling powerhouse.
What followed was a grueling, six-month round-the-clock rehabilitation marathon that culminated in a historic factory restart.
Since operations began on January 6th, the factory has been operating at peak efficiency, hitting monumental milestones. Over 230,000 tonnes of sugar have already been crushed.
More than KES 700 million has been injected directly into the community via a prompt, weekly farmer payment structure with the company fully compliant, paying both the Sugar Cess and VAT on time to the National Treasury.
