Tanzania receives budget support of 179.35 million euros from the EU

President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Tuesday 4th July 2023, witnessed the signing of three aid agreements worth Tsh 455.09 billion for the implementation of three development programs, and Tsh 117.04 billion for the 2022/23 budget of the European Union (EU).

The signing ceremony was held in Dodoma and was attended by various development stakeholders as a continuation of the seven-year strategic plan to support the Tanzanian government that began in 2021.

In addition, three agreements for the implementation of three development programs are the Blue Economy worth Tsh 279.20 billion, an agreement to strengthen government financial management systems and promote the private sector worth Tsh 160.79 billion.

The third agreement signed is to strengthen relations between the European Union and Tanzania to increase efficiency in designing and managing projects funded by the European Union worth Tsh 15.23 billion.
